IP protection. Choose a NordVPN server and browse under the coverage of its IP address. Your IP address and location will remain secret.
Private access. Nobody will be able to see your online business and get their hands on your data on the Internet.
NordVPN uses two types of security protocols, both of which are my top choices: OpenVPN UDP/TCP and IKEv2/IPSec. OpenVPN UDP is the most secure protocol available, and it’s the default option for the majority of NordVPN’s apps.
You can choose other protocols, though, depending on your needs. However, it also depends on your device type. NordVPN uses IKEv2/IPSec as the default option for macOS and iOS devices, with the option to change to OpenVPN. Android and Windows users have OpenVPN only. To find out why, I spoke to their customer support team who told me that NordVPN simply provides greater choice for iOS users, which is a slight disappointment.

Why should I choose NordVPN instead of a free VPN?FAQs
💰 What doesNordVPN cost?
You can choose from a variety of different plans, so costs vary. If you sign up for longer, the discounts are greater and your overall subscription costs much less. NordVPN’s pricing starts at $3.49 a month – a real bargain considering how much you have access to.
💸 There is NO free version of NordVPN?
🕵️♂️ Who owns NordVPN?
It’s owned by Teesonet, based in Lithuania.
💻 How many devices can I connect with NordVPN?
You have six same time connections available, but you can make that unlimited by installing it to your router first. That means you can connect WiFi-only devices, too, like your smart TV.
It’s compatible with a huge platform of devices, including macOS, Windows, Chromebook, iOS, Anrdoid, and more. It also works with browsers and routers.
🌎 Which NordVPN server is best?
Your server choice depends on a lot of things. Firstly, your location matters because the further away you are from a server, the more likely you are to see a decrease in speeds. That said, my speed tests showed just how fast NordVPN is, even over long distances.
You also need to think about which sites you’re after. If you want Netflix US, for example, a US server is best, because only these servers can unblock that library for you. I liked the New York server in particular for streaming on Netflix US.
If you aren’t trying to evade geoblocks, and just want quick, secure browsing, you can just use the Quick Connect feature in NordVPN’s apps. It finds you the best server, so you don’t need to do anything.
🧐 Should I leave my VPN on all the time?
You don’t have to leave your VPN on all the time, but it depends on where you are. If you’re in a country with intense digital restrictions, like China, I’d recommend leaving your VPN on as you’ll need it to access basically anything online. And if your privacy and security online worries you, then leave it on as you’ll always be anonymous and secure.
You can use the automatic launch feature in the app so NordVPN automatically launches when you start up your device. And you can set it to automatically connect to a server, too.
🌐 Does my ISP care that I use a VPN?
Most ISPs don’t mind if you use a VPN. They can see that you’re using a VPN, but they can never see your actual traffic. However, it’s not the same everywhere. Countries like China ban VPNs and if they see that you’re trying to use one, they’ll block you from accessing the internet.
Thankfully, with a VPN like NordVPN, you can use obfuscated servers to stay undetected. Even if your ISP did mind that you use a VPN, they can’t see that you are because your VPN traffic is invisible.
Simply put, the best value for your money
NordVPN won our Best VPN Award for the second time this year. This should tell you enough about the quality of this service. But just in case it doesn’t, here are the facts: NordVPN is fast and super secure, it can unblock almost anything on the internet, it has servers all over the world, and it’s very reasonably priced.
